| Having multiple users, each using a modem and phone
line to collect mail is hopelessly inefficient and costly. Much
email can be collected during one three minute call. VPOP3 automatically
collects mail at scheduled intervals, without the need for user
intervention, retrying failed connections automatically. If you
also use your phone or ISDN line to access the internet, VPOP3 can
be told to "listen" for a connection and do a sneaky collection
while your users surf the internet.
VPOP3 eliminates the need for costlier server solutions and multiple
ISP mailboxes. VPOP3 standard version has far lower minimum system
requirements than many other email servers and can be installed
on a PC workstation if necessary.
By controlling email "checks", collating and downloading
into one process, VPOP3 can provide significant savings on your
phone bill as well as saving staff time and trouble connecting to
the internet.
With VPOP3, internal email can be routed internally, without having
to be sent to the ISP and back. Users can specify assistants, external
forwarding, autoresponders, mailing and distribution lists; mail
to generic addresses such as sales@yourdomain.com can be sent to
a group or list of people. Users can be restricted from sending
or receiving external email, accounts can be monitored for inappropriate
usage, and daily usage stats can be mailed to the local administrator.
In addition, download rules and filters allow you to delete spam
and mail from know junk sources without downloading it.
Add-ins are also available for network faxing and virus scanning. |
